William Safire dead at 79
Pullitzer Prize winner William Safire died today of Pancreatic Cancer. He was 79. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/28/us/28safire.html?_r=1 I like his "rules for writers": Remember to never split an infinitive. Take the bull by the hand and avoid mixing metaphors. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. Avoid clichés like the plague. And don’t overuse exclamation marks!! Safire was a conservative that could be distinguished from the extreme right. Though I certainly don't agree with everything he said or wrote, there is no denying the fact I enjoyed his style... He knew how to spark an emotion.
